Top Drug Store Makeup Must Haves

Every girl loves a ‘Beat Face’. Something so simple as putting on your makeup can turn a bad day into a better one. You don’t have to be over the top to experience the benefits of a little blush and foundation nor do you have to hate your bare face to justify you wanting to wear make up. Makeup is fun. Miss me with the “Oh, You don’t need make up” BS. Makeup is like an accessory and you’ll never need that gold watch on your wrist but it’s hella cute. So let me live a bit…
Make-up can spruce up a plain outfit and it can be a boost of confidence needed on during those “weak moments” we all have. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found myself balled up in a corner crying over who knows what only to stand up put on a “cute face” [of make up] and snap a selfie…with no wear to go.
There is something about the touch of a makeup brush to your face that says “Come on Girl … stop feeling sorry for yourself.. let’s take over the world.” It’s liberating. It’s self indulging. It’s empowering. I can’t be the only one that feels untouchable and unstoppable with a pop of red lipstick.
It’s also expensive. The high-end, department store makeup can put a dent in your wallet. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good $26 MAC Lipstick. In fact, that Mac Matte Lipstick, Velvet Teddy (3g/0.1oz) is my favorite go to lipstick and that Anastasia Beverly Hills – Dip Brow Pomade, Dark Brown is so AWESOME I could walk around naked in just that and feel on top of the world with flawless brows….but sometimes when the bills are due and the baby needs diapers and dinner needs to be on the table by 6, a girl can’t spend $30 on any type of make up.
Currently, I have a personal goal of getting a certain amount of money in my savings account so I had to cut back on my favorite indulgences, like makeup and wine but I’ve learned that I don’t have to give up make up completely while working on my other goals in life.
Months ago, I sat down with one of the top Beauty Experts in Atlanta, Tarynn Matthews. She put me on to some drug store makeup that I swear by and will continue to use after I reach my savings goal. I actually feel silly for spending so much on the high-end brands when these brands did the job just as well or even better.
Here is my list of Drug-Store Make-Up Must Haves.
